Police Don Put Nigeria On High Alert Over Planned IMN Protest — IGP Disu Warn

Di new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, don tok say di Nigeria Police Force don put all officers on high alert, as dem warn anybody wey wan bring foreign religious or ideological wahala come Nigeria.

Disu give dis warning after intelligence report show say di proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), wey people dey call Shi’ites, dey plan protest for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Di protest dey connected to di crisis for Middle East and di killing of Iran Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khoumenei.

As he dey talk to journalists after dem swear am in for office for Presidential Villa, Abuja, IGP Disu explain say police go use intelligence-led policing take stop any breakdown of law and order.

Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan, report say di new IGP also talk say di Nigeria Police Force ready to support decentralization of policing for di country.

He reveal say di first official thing wey he do today (Wednesday) na to inaugurate eight-member committee on State Police.

Di committee dey led by Professor of Police Studies, Olu Ogunsakin, and dem work na to prepare di official position and operational framework of di Nigeria Police Force on how state police go work.

For matter of officers’ welfare, IGP Disu promise say he go make motivation and welfare of police officers top priority, as he talk say policing work dangerous and very demanding.
