Federal Government don launch one loan fund to support staff wey dey work for tertiary institutions.

Di fund, wey dem call “Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund,” na to help improve welfare and professional development of academic and non-academic staff for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Each academic and non-academic staff go fit collect up to ₦10 million, but e no go pass 33.3% of di person annual salary.

Dem fit use di money for transport, medical support, and small business like poultry farming.

Na di Director of Press for Federal Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, disclose dis one inside statement wey she release on Sunday.

Di statement talk say dem unveil di initiative during one high-level stakeholder meeting wey happen for Abuja.

Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, talk say di fund na part of di government plan to reposition tertiary education for di country.

Di statement talk say, “TISSF no be just about welfare. Na about empowerment. We dey make sure say our education workforce dey supported to live well, grow professionally, and continue to contribute well-well to institutional excellence.”

“TISSF na welfare-focused loan scheme wey dey promote financial stability, improve quality of life, and support career growth for staff wey dey Nigeria tertiary institutions.”

Di programme go run with partnership from Bank of Industry, wey go manage how dem go share di money to make sure say everything dey transparent, accountable, and well delivered.

Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, talk say dem develop di programme after plenty consultation with staff unions, school leaders, and other important stakeholders.

Di statement still mention say dem don put strong monitoring and evaluation system to track progress and make sure say di fund go succeed for long run.
