FG don approve 30 new Assistant Comptrollers General for Prisons

Di Federal Government don approve di promotion of 30 controllers of prisons to di prestigious rank of Assistant Comptrollers General.

Public Relations Officer of di Nigerian Prisons Service, Umar Abubakar, wey be Deputy Controller of Prisons, na im talk dis one for Abuja yesterday.

He talk say di approval na from Civil Defence, Prisons, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

According to am, di decision dey in line with di commitment to merit-based advancement, professional excellence, and to strengthen leadership for inside di agency.

He talk say: β€œAmong di newly promoted officers, 27 na general duty officers wey don show better dedication, leadership and operational competence for different formations across di country.

β€œIn addition, three professional officers don also get promotion because of their outstanding service and special contributions for areas like Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing and Public Health.”

He talk say di promotion na part of di ongoing reform agenda for di agency, wey dey align with di Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, under di leadership of di Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Umar talk say di minister dey serious about repositioning di Prisons Service to make am more efficient and professional, and say wetin di minister dey do na something wey never happen before.

Meanwhile, di Comptroller-General of Prisons, Sylvester Nwakuche, don congratulate di newly promoted officers and tell dem make dem put more effort for service delivery, strategic leadership and di main work of reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.

He emphasize say di promotion no be just reward for wetin dem don do before, but na call to higher responsibility, wey follow global best practices for prison management.
