Federal Government dey plan to regularize electricity tariffs to solve the differences for the current billing system. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, talk say government dey consider this option because of how slow the migration to Band A customers dey, which e say na because Distribution Companies no wan make the necessary investments.

For the current setup, customers wey dey Band B, wey get 18 to 17 hours of light, go pay N63 per kilowatt-hour, while those wey dey Band A, wey get just 2 more hours of supply, go pay N209 per kilowatt-hour.

Adelabu still talk say Federal Government owe electricity generation companies and distribution companies over N4 trillion for electricity subsidies.
