Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) don ban tankers wey dey carry 60,000 litres of petrol from Nigerian roads, starting from March 1, to reduce accidents wey dey happen with tankers for road.
Di Chief Executive, Ahmed Farouk, announce di ban yesterday after one Stakeholders Technical Committee Meeting. E talk say, by di fourth quarter of 2025, trucks wey dey carry 45,000 litres no go fit load petrol products again.
Farouk, wey Mr. Ogbugo Ukoha, di Authority’s Executive Director for Distribution Systems, represent, explain say di ban dey because of di plenty accidents wey dey involve big petrol tankers.
Ukoha also tok say di fuel wey dey country dey meet regulatory standards, and Nigerians no need worry about di quality of di fuel wey dem dey buy.
