Department of State Services (DSS) don carry five people wey dem suspect say dem belong to one criminal gang go court over the abduction of 20 people wey dey prepare to serve for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and one other person for Imo State.

The incident happen near Umunoha, for Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, on October 1, 2026.

According to Channels TV report on Tuesday, dem bring the five suspects come before Justice Oputa State High Court for Owerri, wey be the state capital.

NTA News also report for im Facebook page on Tuesday say the five suspects na Ibrahim Jiji, Aminu Haliru, Mohammed Ali, Usman Aliyu and Babangida Aliyu.

PUNCH Online report say security operatives catch the suspects during different operations wey dem carry out based on information wey dem gather from intelligence work. The operations happen for different places for Rivers and Abia states. But three other suspects escape during the operations, even though dem suffer different levels of injury.

Security sources talk say the operations happen between October 10 and 14 for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Security operatives don earlier rescue the people wey dem kidnap on October 7, 2026, during one joint operation for Amakohia Ubi Village.

The different operations mark one important breakthrough for the effort to catch the people behind the abduction, break the criminal gang and make sure say everybody wey take part in the crime face justice.

One security source describe the development as big relief, as security agencies don continue to search for the people wey carry out the abduction.

The source talk say, “This one na big relief for us. Security agencies don dey search everywhere to catch the people wey kidnap dem, and we happy say dem don catch some of dem. We believe say DSS go charge dem go court, and the corps members go get justice.
