Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, don win big legal battle as UK court clear her of all bribery charges wey British prosecutors bring against her.

On Wednesday, jury for Southwark Crown Court for London talk say Diezani no guilty for five counts of collecting bribe and one count of conspiracy to collect bribe.

Diezani, wey serve as Nigeria Petroleum Minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, don dey deny the allegations since the case start.

UK prosecutors bin accuse am say she enjoy luxury lifestyle for London, including expensive shopping and property upgrades, wey some oil and gas businessmen allegedly sponsor in exchange for juicy contracts and favours for Nigeria oil sector.

Dem claim say millions of pounds dey spent on her behalf, including over £2 million for shopping at Harrods and about £4.6 million for house renovation.

But Diezani insist throughout the trial say she no collect any bribe and say she no get direct power to award government contracts.

After more than 46 hours of discussion, the jury finally return verdict of “Not Guilty” on all six charges.

Even though UK court don free her, Diezani still dey face separate corruption cases for Nigeria, while Nigerian courts don already order forfeiture of assets worth billions of naira linked to her.
