Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, don reveal say bandits wey kidnap pupils and teachers for Oyo State threaten to kill all the children if security forces move closer to their hideout.

Musa talk this one during interview preview wey News Central release on Wednesday.

According to am, the kidnappers dey use the children as bargaining tool because some of their commanders dey military custody. He say the criminals believe say holding the pupils fit force government to release their arrested leaders.

“For the moment wey security forces wan take action, dem threaten say if army come any closer, dem go kill all the children,” Musa explain.

The kidnapping happen on May 15 when gunmen carry away 39 pupils and seven teachers from Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, and two other schools for Esinle area of Oriire Local Government, Oyo State.

The Defence Minister also support death penalty for kidnappers and bandits, saying Nigeria laws too soft and that stronger punishment go help stop criminals from continuing their activities.

According to am, if criminals know say serious punishment dey wait for anybody wey commit such crimes, e go serve as warning to others.
