Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), have said they may be forced to embark on a nationwide strike, over what they described as dissatisfaction with the way their demands are being handled by the states and federal government.

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) don talk say dem fit begin nationwide strike soon because dem no happy with how governments dey handle their matter.

The President of the union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, talk this one for one statement wey he sign, and he say dem don reach this decision after meeting with the national executive council. According to am, government never do anything wey make sense to address their demands for the past ten years.

Some of the things wey dem dey ask for include making sure say the legally constituted Governing Councils dey respected, make dem review the 2009 federal government and ASUU agreement, provide revitalisation fund for public universities, pay all the money wey dem owe lecturers like their academic allowances, promotion arrears, and salaries wey dem hold back.

Osodeke still add say dem go meet again after two weeks to review wetin dey happen and decide the next action to take to address their matter.
