The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) don blast former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over im recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu government, insisting say wetin Nigeria need now no be fresh economic direction but continuity of the reforms wey already dey ground.
The fresh war of words start after Obi appear for Channels Television and declare say Nigeria dey move for the wrong direction under Tinubu administration. The former Anambra governor argue say the country need new leadership approach to tackle the economic hardship and governance problems wey Nigerians dey face.
Obi even describe Tinubu agenda as one of “failure and renewed hopelessness,” adding say the current government never show Nigerians the kind progress wey dem expect.
But APC no waste time to respond.
Reacting to Obi comments, APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, say Nigeria no suppose abandon the economic reforms wey Tinubu government don start.
According to am, the country need to build on top of the foundation wey don already dey instead of tearing everything down and starting afresh.
“The priority for Nigeria suppose be to consolidate the gains wey we don already achieve, no be to dey lay another foundation,” Arodiogbu talk.
He explain say some of the major economic policies wey Tinubu government introduce to put the economy for stronger path for long-term growth include, removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate reforms, and fiscal restructuring.
The APC chieftain admit say some of the reforms don cause hardship for Nigerians, but insist say the policies were necessary if the country truly wants to fix deep-rooted economic problems.
According to am, the reforms be like bitter medicine wey no sweet for mouth but dey cure sickness.
He argue say signs don begin show say some of the policies dey produce results and therefore should be strengthened instead of being cancelled.
Arodiogbu also accuse Peter Obi of always pointing out Nigeria problems without providing practical alternatives wey fit work under the current economic realities.
According to am, it easy to talk about hardship and challenges, but leadership requires realistic solutions and consistency.
He say:
“Nigeria need leaders wey go continue policies wey fit bring growth, increase government revenue, improve infrastructure and create jobs, no be politicians wey go just dey talk.”
The APC leader further warn Nigerians against abandoning ongoing reforms for what he call another political experiment ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to am, investors and businesses need stability and policy consistency before dem fit bring money into the country.
He argue say sudden changes in government direction fit scare investors away and affect economic growth.
Arodiogbu also claim say the South-East region and other parts of Nigeria stand to gain more if the present reforms continue rather than being scrapped completely.
He say infrastructure development, job opportunities and economic expansion need time before ordinary Nigerians go begin feel the full impact.

The APC vice chairman urge Nigerians to judge politicians based on their governance records and verifiable achievements instead of campaign promises and political rhetoric.
He stress say national interest should come before party politics because economic stability, job creation and development depend on policy continuity.
Despite complaints from many Nigerians over hardship and rising living costs, APC maintain say Tinubu economic reforms still dey on the right track.
The party express confidence say as the policies mature, more Nigerians go begin see benefits through, More investments, better productivity, more jobs, improved infrastructure, and stronger economy.
For now, APC message remain clear: according to the party, Nigeria no need economic reset; wetin the country need na patience and continuity.
