Anambra State Government don tell voters for the state make dem no vote for Peter Obi, wey dey contest under Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), for the 2027 presidential election.
The state government make the call through the official X account wey the New Media office of Governor Charles Soludo dey manage on Monday.
The government accuse Obi say he don work to destroy All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the political party wey previously bring am come power as Anambra governor. The government also claim say President Bola Tinubu support APGA at the time Obi allegedly worked against the party.
For one message wey the government post, dem describe Obi as person wey betray APGA and call on APGA supporters make dem stand against am for the 2027 election.
The government say, “Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him,” while urging APGA supporters for Anambra to resist NDC.
The development come as Soludo don previously declare support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
For 2025, Soludo explain say him support for Tinubu come from their long friendship of over 22 years and the economic changes wey the President don introduce.
Soludo, after meeting Tinubu for the Presidential Villa for Abuja, say he go continue to support his friend despite the fact say he no be member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Meanwhile, APGA itself don endorse Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
The party make the decision after consultations among its leaders, according to APGA National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara.
Opara say the party’s National Executive Committee decide say supporting Tinubu for another term dey in the interest of the country.
The political fight between Obi and Soludo don also involve disagreement over money wey relate to some projects wey Obi implement when he dey governor of Anambra.
Obi later explain say he no wan make the issue turn political fight because he dey mourn his late elder brother and friend, Chief Okey Ezeibe.
He also say he no get any plan to return as Anambra governor, even if dem change the Constitution to allow am.
Obi reject the claim say the money involved na simply “debt owed by Peter Obi”. According to am, the projects mainly come from World Bank and International Fund for Agricultural Development programmes wey Federal Government negotiate and states access through agreed arrangements.
Obi say the amount approved, the amount actually collected and the money wey remain unpaid when he leave office suppose dey treated separately.
He also maintain say he never personally go any bank or financial institution to borrow money or issue bond for Anambra State.
