Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, don talk say Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, no do well as he give chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland to one Ibadan businessman, Chief Dotun Sanusi.
For statement wey him Chief Press Secretary, Bode Durojaye, release on Monday, Alaafin talk say wetin Ooni do na direct insult to him authority and the traditional stool wey he represent.
Alaafin talk say na only him get the right to give chieftaincy title wey cover all Yorubaland, and say Supreme Court of Nigeria don confirm that right.
He accuse Ooni say he don pass him boundary and warn say if dem no cancel the title within 48 hours, wahala fit burst.
He still talk say peace and unity na the key to progress, and beg other traditional rulers make dem work together.
He talk say, “Our forefathers happy when we dey united, dem do their part to make sure peace and unity dey Yorubaland; we too must try make we continue that path.”
“God dey inside our matter; so we suppose always dey think about peace and unity for Yorubaland. We dey talk say we want development, but development wey go last no fit happen without peace and unity.”
“But e be like say Ooni of Ife dey misunderstand Alaafin, the Paramount wey get Heart of Gold, and him peace move as weakness, na why he dey take decision wey no follow law and wey dey insult the Titan of Yorubaland.”
“The paper wey dem give Oba Ogunwusi when dem install am talk say him power no pass Oranmiyan Local Government, wey don divide into three now, Ife Central, Ife North and Ife South.”
“To give chieftaincy title wey concern whole Yorubaland by Ooni of Ife na big insult to Alaafin institution, wey be the Titan of Yorubaland and wey get the only right to give title wey cover all Yorubaland to anybody.”
Alaafin talk say Ooni of Ife dey behave like say nobody fit check am or call am to order, and because of that ‘above the law’ attitude wey he get, he don dey step on everybody, even the Supreme Court wey be the highest court for Nigeria, wey don already rule say na only Alaafin get the right to give chieftaincy title wey cover the whole Yorubaland.
He talk say the saying wey talk say nobody dey above the law don reach serious test now, and as things be, e don become necessary make Alaafin call Ooni of Ife to order and demand make dem cancel the so-called OKANLOMO of Yorubaland chieftaincy title wey dem give Engineer Dotun Sanusi within 48 hours or make he face the consequence.
