As wahala dey increase for different areas, dem say e don reach time to allow states handle their own police matter.

For one meeting wey Afenifere hold, dem talk say federal police no fit cover everywhere well. Dem say if states get their own police, e go help respond fast to local problems. Dem also talk say many communities dey suffer because federal police no dey reach dem quick.

Northern leaders join mouth with Afenifere, say insecurity for north don too much. Bandits, kidnappers and other criminals dey disturb peace. Dem believe say state police go help gather better information and make people trust police more. Some governors don already dey beg National Assembly to change law make state police possible.

But federal government never gree. Some people dey fear say governors fit use state police anyhow. Others dey worry say e fit cause confusion. But people wey support the idea say if dem put correct rules, state police go work well.
