Plenty states for Nigeria don start to enforce strict safety measures. This comes after the deaths of 67 people, including plenty children, during stampedes for free food and funfair events in Ibadan (Oyo State capital), Okija (Anambra State), and Abuja. People dey rush to collect free food, causing the stampedes.

For Lagos State, government don order say any person or group wey wan hold event wey go get more than 250 people go need to register and get clearance from the state safety agencies before the event, especially during and after the Yuletide period.

For Ondo State, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, don introduce new crowd control guidelines. E say law enforcement agencies must assess the risks before any public gathering, checking the expected crowd size, venue, and security issues.

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, don also call for better planning and safer ways to distribute relief materials to avoid stampedes and loss of lives.

Other states like Abia, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Kogi, and Rivers don also issue similar safety directives.
