The Duke of Shomolu Foundation don set to stage one hot stage play wey them call “GOWON,” wey go show the life and legacy of retired General Yakubu Gowon, wey be former military head of state for Naija. Dem go do am for Lagos from August 24 reach August 25. The script for this play na Prof. Ahmed Yerima write am, and e go still direct the stage proceedings.

According to the Duke of Shomolu Foundation, this play go explore General Gowon service to Naija well well. E go also look into im ethnic background, especially from Plateau State where im Angas tribe dey from. Dem wan really explore all the historical and cultural things wey shape Gowon life and leadership.

The play “GOWON” go focus well well on unity, wey be one of the main things wey dey Gowon tenure as head of state. Especially, e go talk about the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Reorientation (3Rs) policy wey Gowon put for ground after the Nigerian Civil War.
