One bus conductor, Abubakar Shehu, don land for serious trouble after Kaduna Magistrate Court order say dem must give am 10 strokes of cane for slapping one female passenger during quarrel over transport fare.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel deliver the judgment on Wednesday, saying the punishment fit am well after the 20-year-old conductor admit say na true, e slap the passenger.
According to the magistrate, the court decide to show small mercy because the young man no waste court time and quickly accept responsibility for wetin e do.
The judge still warn am make e no ever repeat such behaviour again, saying if e find imself for similar wahala next time, the court no go take am easy with am.
Apart from the koboko punishment, the court still order the conductor make e write undertaking, promising say from now on e go maintain good behaviour and stay away from any form of violence.
Earlier, prosecutor Inspector Chidi Leo tell the court say the incident happen on July 24 for Kawo area of Kaduna.
According to the prosecutor, the conductor and one passenger identified as Hadiza Rabiu begin quarrel over transport fare, and before anybody know wetin dey happen, the conductor allegedly slap the woman twice for face.
Leo tell the court say the action violate provisions of the Kaduna State Penal Code 2017, which prohibit assault and other forms of unlawful violence.
