ADC National Legal Adviser and former Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, talk say the petition no be because dem no like the judgment, but because the judge allegedly refuse obey Court of Appeal order wey direct make e stop proceedings until appeal matter finish.
Osunbor insist say Justice Lifu receive the order, acknowledge am, yet continue the case and deliver judgment.
According to am, Supreme Court don always stand firm say court orders must be obeyed until another competent court cancel am.
E also condemn attempts to weaken opposition parties, saying many Nigerians don suspect say some powerful interests dey behind moves to silence opposition voices.
The controversy start after Court of Appeal for Abuja cancel the Federal High Court judgment wey order INEC to deregister ADC, APP, AA, Accord Party and Zenith Labour Party.
The Appeal Court rule say the case get serious legal flaws from the beginning because the group wey file am, National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL), no get legal right to bring the matter come court.
Justice Abba Mohammed, wey read the lead judgment, fault the lower court for entering matter wey no belong to am and ignoring evidence say the affected parties don win elections before.
The Appeal Court also knock Justice Lifu for continuing with the case despite clear instruction to suspend proceedings, describing the action as serious disrespect to superior court authority.
In the end, the court cancel the deregistration judgment completely, restore all five political parties and award cost against NFFL.
With dis ruling, ADC, APP, AA, Accord Party and ZLP still remain fully recognised political parties wey INEC don legally register, and dem still get full right to operate and contest election for Nigeria.
