Traditionalists wey dey for Oyo dey advocate for Isese Day

Traditional Religion Worshippers Association (TRWA) for Oyo State don renew their call to Governor Seyi Makinde say make e follow other governors for South-west wey don approve Isese Festival holiday for their states.

The association, for one statement by their state Secretary, Mr. Fakayode Fatunde, and the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Taiwo Fagbohun, praise the Ogun State House of Assembly for passing the bill and approving the Isese Day holiday for traditional religious worshippers for their state.

Dem talk say Ogun Assembly pass the bill based on the need to preserve the rich culture and tradition of the state for the next generations, and dem call for the celebration every August 20, as Isese-Cultural Day, wey go be public holiday.

The statement talk say, “E dey commendable and historic how Ogun Assembly take pass the bill for the Isese Day holiday for our members for their state. E show say dem no dey discriminate and dem welcome all religious worshippers as part of the society.

“Nigeria constitution allow all citizens practice their choice of religion, as long as e no disturb other people freedom. E dey unfortunate say dis freedom of choice no dey allowed to grow for Nigeria, but we thank Olodumare say Ogun Assembly follow Osun State step by declaring August 20 as Isese Day holiday.

“We dey use dis chance beg our amiable Governor Makinde, during hin time wey plenty positive things dey happen, make e follow dis step too and declare the holiday, like Osun and Ogun States’ governments do.

“Our demand dey based on our right as believers like our Christian and Muslim brothers and the freedom wey Nigerian constitution give us to follow the religion wey we like. We sabi say Makinde get capacity to make bold decision.”
